Product overview
What WHOOP Life Adds Over Peak
WHOOP Life is the top of WHOOP's three-tier membership structure, priced at $359 per year, above WHOOP One ($199) and WHOOP Peak ($239). Unlike Peak, which pairs with the standard WHOOP 5.0 sensor, Life requires the separate WHOOP MG (medical-grade) hardware. The Amazon listing includes the 12-month Life membership, the WHOOP MG device, a SuperKnit Luxury strap, and a waterproof Wireless PowerPack.
The headline additions in Life are on-demand ECG readings you can share with a doctor or caregiver, a Heart Screener feature that watches for signs of atrial fibrillation, and daily blood pressure insight estimates delivered from the wrist. These sit on top of everything included in Peak: strain, recovery, sleep, stress monitoring, Healthspan, and Pace of Aging.
It's worth being precise about what "medical-grade" means here. WHOOP markets the MG hardware and its ECG/AFib detection with that language, and 12-month WHOOP memberships (including the hardware/PowerPack) are HSA/FSA-eligible, which is a meaningful practical signal of how WHOOP positions the tier. That said, we did not find independent, peer-reviewed clinical validation specific to WHOOP MG's blood pressure estimation accuracy; blood pressure estimation from wrist-worn optical or bioimpedance sensors is a much harder problem than ECG rhythm detection, and the wider wearables industry (including Apple and Samsung) is still working toward FDA clearance for blood pressure claims in the US.
On general WHOOP sensor performance, independent 5.0-generation testing found strong agreement with other validated sleep trackers (Oura Ring 4, Withings) on sleep/wake timing, while wrist heart-rate accuracy during high-intensity intervals was flagged as a relative weak point unless paired with WHOOP's optional bicep band. There's no reason to assume the WHOOP MG hardware behaves meaningfully differently on these same axes, since it shares the same underlying platform generation with added sensors for ECG and blood pressure.
As with WHOOP Peak, the membership-cancellation complaints documented on Trustpilot apply here too, and arguably matter more given Life's higher $359/year renewal cost. Buyers should read WHOOP's cancellation terms directly and understand that the Amazon purchase price covers only the first 12 months.
Bottom line: WHOOP Life is a legitimate step up for anyone who specifically wants ECG and blood pressure trend data alongside WHOOP's usual strain/recovery/sleep suite, but it's the most expensive tier, its blood pressure feature has not been independently validated in trials we could find, and the subscription-renewal friction reported by other WHOOP customers is a real cost consideration, not just a hardware decision.
