Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro: What to Know
The core idea behind this model is Shark's PowerDetect system, five sensing technologies (branded DirtDetect, FloorDetect, EdgeDetect, and others) that are meant to identify hidden dirt and adjust suction or add extra passes automatically rather than cleaning every room at one fixed setting. EdgeDetect specifically uses air blasts to pull debris away from walls and baseboards during vacuuming.
The NeverTouch Pro base backs that up with a 60-day debris capacity for self-emptying and a 30-day auto-refill water tank for mopping, washing and drying the mop pad after every cleaning run with room-temperature water. That last detail matters for comparison shopping: Shark sells a separate, newer PowerDetect ThermaCharged NeverTouch Pro model that adds heated mop washing (185F) and drying, a real hardware difference hidden behind a very similar product name.
Navigation is handled by 360-degree LiDAR combined with a 3D sensor, and Shark's NeverStuck technology is designed to physically lift the robot and its mop over obstacles and thresholds rather than routing around them. Shark also rates the unit's seal to capture 99.97% of pet allergens down to 0.3 microns, and lists battery runtime at up to 2 hours per charge.
