Product overview
WATERGLIDE Battery Fairy Lights (12 Pack): What to Know
The shape of this product is the reason to buy it. Twelve separate short strings behave completely differently from one long one: you can put a string in each mason jar, each centrepiece, each lantern, with no cable running between tables and no socket anywhere near them. Each is 2.12 metres, which is 7 feet, carrying 20 LEDs on flexible silver copper wire you can bend and hold in a shape, for 240 LEDs across the set.
Power is per string, two button cells each, supplied fitted in the battery case. A screwdriver comes in the box, which tells you something useful: the cases are screw-closed rather than snap-shut, which is slower to change but is the child-resistant design you want on button cells. The trade-off against the Homemory tealights above is straightforward physics, 20 LEDs draw far more than one, so these will not run for 200 hours, and WATERGLIDE does not publish a runtime figure at all. For an event, switch them on as late as you can.
Now the contradiction, which is in the product's own data. The title says Cool White and the specification table also says cool white, but the same table gives a colour temperature of 2800 Kelvin. 2800K is warm white, close to an old incandescent bulb, and nothing like cool white, which starts around 5000K. One of those is wrong and we cannot tell you which from the listing. If colour matters to your scheme, that is a reason to buy one pack and look before committing to a venue's worth.
The waterproof claim also needs reading precisely: the listing says the light wire part can be put into water, which is a claim about the lit wire and not the battery case. The case stays dry.
