One of these is an import model with a dealer warranty and a manual mirror lens as its second lens. Another states full USA manufacturer cover. Check both.

Buyer checklist
We read every kit's full contents list off the live Amazon.com listing rather than the headline, because that is where these products differ and where the marketing does not help. Three things were checked on each: whether the warranty is the manufacturer's or a dealer's, whether every lens named is from the camera maker, and whether the bundle extras are branded accessories or third-party filler. Those findings are reported in each section, including the one kit that states its own import status and dealer warranty in its first bullet. Sensor resolutions, processors, autofocus systems, video modes and frame rates below are the manufacturers' published figures. One inconsistency worth noting: the Canon R100 listing gives 24.1MP in one bullet and 24.2MP in another. We have not handled or tested any of these cameras, and no image quality judgement here is ours.
It is a camera built for sale in another market and imported outside the manufacturer's official distribution, often called grey market. The camera itself is usually identical. What differs is the warranty: the manufacturer's own cover generally does not apply outside its intended region, which is why these listings supply a dealer warranty instead. That means repairs go through the seller rather than Nikon, Canon or Sony, and the cover lasts as long as that seller is trading. Prices are lower for exactly this reason. The Nikon D3500 bundle in this guide states its import status in its own first bullet, which is more honest than many; the Sony kit here states the opposite, full USA manufacturer cover.
Sometimes, and you have to check which lens it is. A genuine manufacturer telephoto, like the Canon EF 75-300mm in the Rebel T7 kit, is a real lens even when it is a dated one. A 420-800mm f/8 manual telephoto, as bundled with the Nikon D3500 kit here, is a different proposition entirely: it is a mirror lens with no autofocus, a fixed f/8 aperture and no electronic connection to the camera, so it will not meter normally and cannot be focused automatically. It is not a bad object, it is a specialist curiosity, and it should not be counted as the telephoto lens in a beginner kit.
Mirrorless, in almost all cases, and the kits here show why. The Nikon Z50 II offers 4K 60p video, nine subject-detection categories and 31 built-in colour presets; the Canon R100 offers Dual Pixel CMOS AF with 143 zones. The DSLR options, the Rebel T7 and D3500, are older designs with 9-point autofocus and optical viewfinders, and their lens mounts, EF-S and F, are both ranges the makers have stopped developing. The DSLR case is price: a Rebel T7 double-lens kit costs far less than a mirrorless two-lens kit, and for someone who mainly wants stills in daylight it still takes good photographs.
