Cuisinart Precision Master 5.5-Quart Stand Mixer: What to Know
Mechanically, the Precision Master follows the same basic formula as the KitchenAid Artisan: a die-cast metal body, a tilt-back head, and planetary mixing action inside a stainless bowl -- in this case 5.5 quarts, slightly larger than KitchenAid's 5-quart Artisan bowl. Cuisinart's published spec, corroborated consistently across Target and Best Buy listings, states a 500-watt motor with 12 speeds -- two more discrete speed steps, and a higher published wattage, than the roughly 325 watts commonly (though not officially) reported for the KitchenAid Artisan.
The mixer ships with a chef's whisk, dough hook, flat mixing paddle, and a splash guard with a pour spout built in. Cuisinart also sells power-hub attachments for the same mixer -- a pasta roller and cutter, pasta extruder, meat grinder, frozen dessert maker, and spiralizer -- conceptually similar to KitchenAid's hub system, though Cuisinart's attachment catalog and third-party accessory support are both considerably smaller.
The main tradeoff is maturity: Cuisinart is a newer entrant to stand mixers than KitchenAid or Bosch, so there's less long-term reliability history and a thinner secondhand/resale market. Amazon listings for this model cite a 3-year limited warranty.
